Geopolitics Decoded: India’s Sharpest Minds on Global Conflict

As the world edges closer to its geopolitical limits, conflict is no longer a distant headline, it shapes decisions across boardrooms and leadership agendas. In moments like these, the most trusted voices are those who have lived this reality - defence veteran G. D. Bakshi, strategic coach Capt. Raghu Raman, and journalist Palki Sharma among them.

These are not commentators reacting from the sidelines, but experts who have spent years tracking conflict and its global impact. This month, the spotlight is on such speakers who bring clear, grounded perspective to an increasingly uncertain world.

If you are looking to bring these voices, or others from our wider network, into your next leadership session or event, we are facilitating engagements across formats and would be happy to find the right fit for your audience.

Capt. Raghu Raman

Commander of Three Worlds: Military, Intelligence & Business

He has commanded troops at 26,000 feet, helped build India’s counter-terrorism intelligence grid, and led businesses across the Mahindra, Reliance and Adani Groups. Capt. Raghu Raman’s career defies labels, and that’s what sets his perspective apart.

Whether he's unpacking the mechanics of geopolitical risk or drawing leadership lessons from operating under extreme pressure, his perspective is shaped by having actually been inside the rooms where the hardest decisions were made - across both conflict zones and corporate boardrooms.

Palki Sharma stepped into television journalism at a time when India's perspective on world affairs was an afterthought in global media, and spent over two decades building the case that it shouldn't be. Former Managing Editor of Firstpost and the creator of Vantage, a show that drew millions by cutting through western narratives with clarity and conviction, Palki has earned her place as one of India's most recognized voices in global news.

Now channeling that same conviction into India Global Review, a digital-first, independent platform focused on global news from an Indian perspective, she brings to the stage the same clarity and authority that has shaped her work over the years.

Palki Sharma

The Face of India’s Global Narrative

Maj. Gen. G.D. Bakshi

A Combat Veteran Who Speaks with Clarity and Conviction

He joined the National Defence Academy soon after losing his elder brother in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965, and went on to spend four decades in some of the Indian Army’s toughest conflict zones. A Kargil war veteran with deep experience in J&K counter-terrorism operations and Information Warfare at Northern Command, Maj. Gen. G.D. Bakshi brings authority shaped by lived experience.

A PhD in strategic studies, author of over 40 books, and one of India’s most recognised defence voices, he takes the stage the way he took the field - direct, clear, and impossible to ignore.

Partners' Meet for Kotak

Kochi
Bobby Deol
Bobby Deol

Reinvention might sound inspiring in retrospect, but living through it is often a gritty process. At a Partners' Meet for Kotak in Kochi, Bollywood actor Bobby Deol moved past the polished surface of a glamorous comeback to speak about the years of silence that came before it.

As a guest speaker, he didn’t revisit just the highs; he spoke about a phase in his career when opportunities slowed down and the future felt uncertain.

What shifted his journey wasn’t luck, but a clear decision to change direction. He spoke about 'unlearning' his earlier image and saying yes to roles that were darker and more layered than his 90s persona, a choice that opened the door to where he stands today.

A key moment came when he spoke about his father, the legendary Dharmendra. There was pride and warmth in his words, offering a glimpse of a son carrying a legacy while building his own path, beyond the 'Lord Bobby' phenomenon.

The audience left with a clear reminder: Reinvention begins where comfort ends, setbacks are part of the journey, and the real shift comes from choosing to keep showing up, especially when the path isn’t clear.

Comedian Ravi Gupta

Before they found the stage, they were students of logic, engineering, and the daily grind - a journey not too far from the audience they were performing for. At the SAP Finance & Spend Connect, spanning Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai, the spotlight turned to Biswa Kalyan Rath, Vivek Muralidharan, and Ravi Gupta respectively - three artists who proved that comedy is often just a different form of data analysis.

Each of them drew from their own unconventional paths - Biswa’s IIT-rooted observations, Vivek’s shift from the tech ecosystem, and Ravi’s take on everyday financial pressures - turning lived experience into something insightful, entertaining and relatable.

These weren’t standard corporate performances, they were a reflection of the audience’s own journeys, told with wit, honesty, and just the right amount of irreverence.

Because sometimes, the best way to make sense of numbers, pressure, and process… is to laugh at it.

An all-women session at FLO Ahmedabad (FICCI Ladies' Organization)

Jaya Kishori

In an intimate all-women session at FLO Ahmedabad (FICCI Ladies' Organization), the 'Meera of the Modern Era', Jaya Kishori, shared a refreshing take on what it truly means to be an empowered woman today. Having walked her spiritual path since the age of seven, she didn’t just offer 'advice', she offered a mirror to the soul.

She spoke warmly about the many hats women wear, from the role of a mother and daughter to the responsibilities of a daughter-in-law. She reminded the audience that these roles are strengths, not shackles, and spoke at length about how a daughter-in-law is, first and foremost, someone’s daughter, deserving of the same respect and understanding from her new family.

She was also quick to point out that true independence goes beyond the bank account, urging everyone to view emotional and personal grounding as equally vital. Her words on patience held the room’s full attention as she drew lessons from nature and its unhurried pace. Her most reflective advice centered on how to handle life's friction and the nuanced difference between adjusting and compromising, encouraging women to adapt where needed, but never at the cost of their core values.

The session remained conversational throughout, with reflections flowing both ways, leaving the audience with ideas that felt easy to relate to and carry forward.
