In the spirit of Friendship Day, celebrated in August, we're shining the spotlight on two iconic partnerships in the world of music: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Vishal & Sheykhar. Their harmonious partnerships have not only produced chart-topping hits but also highlighted the power of collaboration and friendship in the industry. Join us as we celebrate these musical friendships that have gifted us unforgettable melodies and have become an inspiration for camaraderie and creative synergy.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy

The iconic Musical Trio who has given evergreen hits

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s journey toward becoming the revered musical Trio of Bollywood - began through their work in jingles and ad compositions. Ehsaan Noorani, the guitarist, and Loy Mendosa, the pianist, first met in 1989 while working for ad film composer Ranjit Barot, and their professional chemistry was undeniable. Their paths converged with Shankar Mahadevan when he was brought in by Ranjit Barot to sing for a Pepsi ad. The synergy between the three was palpable, leading them to collaborate on numerous ad jingles as a Trio.

And it was the music album of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001), ironically, a movie about friendship and love, that catapulted them to fame.

With a career spanning over two decades, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have revolutionized Hindi film music, composing over 50 soundtracks across multiple languages, winning numerous awards, and leaving an indelible mark as Bollywood's most influential and enduring music composers.

The Musical Duo who has composed some of the most iconic Bollywood songs

Two childhood friends who met in the studio while recording songs for a film decided to form a team together to write music for Bollywood films. And there they were, the iconic musical duo of Bollywood; Vishal & Sheykhar whose friendship culminated into a beautiful musical synergy belting out some of the evergreen chart-topping hits. From the revered music of ‘Jhankaar Beats’, and chart-topping albums of ‘Dus’, ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, ‘Dostana’, Vishal & Sheykhar have positioned themselves as the stalwarts of the music industry. In the ever-evolving world of Bollywood music, Vishal & Sheykhar continue to enchant and enthrall listeners around the globe.

The summit was infused with entertainment by the eclectic pop-rock band Black in White, known for their dynamic fusion of rock and soul. Drawing from his remarkable shooting career and relentless dedication, Abhinav shared invaluable insights into achieving excellence and overcoming challenges. Raaga Trippin, a band known for their acapella mashups, electrified the audience with their custom anthem, crafted specifically for the event. Their unique blend of traditional and contemporary sounds resonated with attendees, perfectly capturing the spirit of celebration and support for the athletes. The Question Mark Crew, a hip-hop dance group renowned for their unique hand formations, dazzled the crowd with their creative hand formations, skillfully spelling out 'HSBC' and 'AFI' in a visually stunning display.
