As we celebrate Pride Month in June, honoring the resilience, diversity, and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community, we shine a spotlight on two of the most interesting speakers, who are making significant strides in advocating for equality, acceptance, and understanding. These trailblazers are ready to share their journeys, challenges, and triumphs, offering motivation and hope to countless individuals.
Sushant Divgikar
The Indisputable ‘Drag Queen’ of India & an LGBTQ Activist
Sushant Divgikar, is the first drag artiste from India to ever feature on the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List’. He is a renowned personality in the LGBTQ+ community celebrated for his accomplishments as a model, actor, singer, columnist, pageant director, and video jockey. Crowned Mr Gay India 2014, Sushant made history by securing three individual and two group sub-titles.
Sushant has also made notable TV appearances in 'Bigg Boss 8' and 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa', where he won the golden buzzer. Recognized as one of GQ's 50 Most Influential Young Indians of 2018, Sushant's journey as an openly gay individual and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights resonates deeply, making him a compelling speaker with a widespread appeal.
Shreegauri Sawant
A Pioneering Transgender Activist instrumental in fighting for the rights of the transgender community in India. | India’s First Transgender mother
Shreegauri Sawant, a courageous transgender activist, played a pivotal role in securing Aadhaar cards for the third gender following the NALSA judgment in 2014, a landmark ruling that recognised transgender people as a third gender in India. In 2019, the Election Commission of India (EC) designated Shreegauri Sawant as one of 12 election ambassadors from Maharashtra, the first member from the LGBTQIA+ community to hold the position. Gauri gained fame by adopting the daughter of a deceased sex worker, challenging societal norms as India's first transgender mother.
In 2000 she founded 'Sakhi Char Chowghi,' an NGO offering counseling and promoting safe sex in Mumbai suburbs. Gauri also featured in a heartwarming Vicks Vaporub advertisement with her daughter that went viral on social media. Gauri's inspiring journey was brought to the screen in the biopic Taali, starring Sushmita Sen, which was released on JioCinema last year.

The Asian Paints Privilege Club Annual Meet 2023 was a 5-day extravaganza for 3 groups of attendees that whisked its esteemed members away to exotic locations across Switzerland and Italy, treating them to an exhilarating experience. The guests were greeted by Swiss-costumed hostesses at the Zurich airport followed by Swiss dancers extending a warm welcome on their arrival to the hotel. Adding a musical touch to the event were the prolific Alphorn Players whose soulful tunes resonated through the alpine air at Gemsstock.The Welcome dinner later in the evening saw an array of frill Artists & performers. The audience was then treated to a mesmerizing display of sparkling LED Drummers, whose rhythmic beats and interactive lights created a vibrant spectacle.

The audience was captivated by the graceful Crystal Balance Act on stage. The journey culminated in Milan with a luxurious gala dinner, where guests were dazzled by a Dynamic Stunt Duo's gravity-defying performances along with a Unicycling Acrobat, and Cosplay Artists (dressed in Iron Man & SuperMan costumes) available for photo ops. This extraordinary event seamlessly blended Swiss tradition and Italian elegance, celebrating art and culture in a wonderful way.
