Bhumi Pednekar, one of Bollywood's most promising actors, is well renowned for taking on challenging roles and portraying strong, morally upright women.
She made her debut with the film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, for which she received several awards. She gained weight to fit into the role, lost it within four months, and was praised for her efforts.
Bhumi gained fame for her performances in films like ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, ‘Bala’, ‘Lust Stories’, to name a few.
Prior to making her film debut, she worked as an Assistant Casting Director at Yash Raj Films for six years under Shanoo Sharma.
Bhumi starred alongside Konkona Sen Sharma in ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ which was screened at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in 2019.
In the past, Bhumi has raised her voice against various issues in our society like gender pay gap in Bollywood. In 2019 Bhumi started a campaign named ‘Climate Warrior’ to raise awareness on Environmental Protection & Global Warming and teamed with MTV India in 2020 for their Nishedh campaign to bring awareness for Reproductive Health Among the Youth.

Bhumi received the ‘Best Female Debut’ by Filmfare, Screen Award, Zee Cine Awards and Star Debut of the Year – Female by IIFA for ‘Dum Laga ke Haisha’.
She won the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ by Zee Cine Awards for ‘Bala’.
She won the ‘Best Actress’(Critics) by Screen Awards and Filmfare for ‘Saand Ki Aankh’. Bhumi was featured by Forbes India in their ‘30 Under 30’ list of 2018.
Bhumi was ranked in The Times of India’s listing of the ‘Most Desirable Women’ at number 40 in 2019 and at number 39 in 2020.
