Rising from humble beginnings as a farmer to a celebrated singer of the Punjabi music industry, Satinder Sartaaj’s musical journey commenced in his early 20s, spurred by a pivotal performance opportunity in Toronto in 2008, which catapulted him into the spotlight. Further his breakthrough hit ‘Sai’ garnered widespread acclaim, laying the foundation for a prolific career that spans continents.
Sartaaj also forayed into Bollywood by composing the music, writing the lyrics, and singing ‘Jalsaa 2.0’ for Akshay Kumar & Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Mission Ranganj’. This peppy song instantly became a chartbuster garnering 15 million + views on Instagram.
A poet at heart, Satindar’s lyrical compositions resonate deeply with audiences, reflecting his profound understanding of Sufi philosophy and poetic tradition. He is a Doctorate in Sufi Music with a rich educational background in music. Notably he received the prestigious ‘Best International Act’ award at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards in 2011.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Sartaaj ventured into acting, making a Hollywood debut portraying ‘Maharaja Duleep Singh’ in ‘The Black Prince’ in 2017. His contributions to Punjabi cinema, including roles in films like ‘Ikko Mikke’ and ‘Kali Jotta’, prove his dynamic talent as an actor.
