A right-arm bowler, Mohammed Siraj's meteoric growth reached its peak when he took his historic maiden 5-wicket haul in his debut series at the MCG against Australia in 2021.
The son of an auto-rickshaw driver became the nation's toast for coming a long way from bowling barefoot in the by-lanes of Hyderabad to being instrumental in India winning the above-mentioned Border- Gavaskar Trophy 2021.
He first emerged as one of the most exciting Indian domestic cricket circuit players during the 2016 Ranji Trophy tournament. He became the highest wicket-taker for Hyderabad with 41 wickets.
Soon he bagged an IPL contract worth Rs 2.6 crore from Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017, a deal that would finally elevate him and his family from poverty. He gave an excellent performance in the latest 2022 IPL playing for RCB.

In 2020, he became the first bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League to bowl two maiden overs in a single match. He was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kolkata Knight Riders.
In October 2018, he was named in India’s A squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. Siraj took 147 wickets at an average of 23.00. Also, he has taken 81 wickets at 23.37 in 41 List A matches.
