Shikhar Dhawan
About
An opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan shot to fame after an unprecedented run in the 2004 U-19 World Cup, where he scored 505 runs including three hundreds which won him ‘Player of the Tournament Award’.
After a string of excellent domestic performances, he was handed an India debut against Australia in 2010.
His Test debut came against the same opposition in March 2013 at Mohali where he scored the fastest century by any batsman on Test debut & ended his innings with 187 runs from 174 balls.
He was also the top-scorer in 2013 & 2017 Champions Trophy tournaments, & holds the record for the fastest Indian to reach 1000 runs in ICC ODI tournaments.
After a string of below average performances he silenced his critics once again with his match-winning performances at the 2015 World Cup where he was the Leading Run-scorer for India &, in the following year, became the fastest Indian to reach 3,000 ODI runs.
In 2022, Shikhar became the Captain for IPL team Punjab Kings and played his 200th match of the Tata IPL and achieved the 6000 run milestone becoming the 2nd player to do so after Virat Kohli.

Shikhar is the only player to get 2 consecutive golden bats at ICC Champions Trophy.
He has the most number of ODI centuries in 2013
He received the ‘Wisden Cricketer of the Year’ in 2014.
He is the Fastest Indian batsman to reach 1000 (Joint-fastest), 2000 and 3000 ODI runs.
He was the ‘Highest run scorer of Asia Cup’ 2018.
During IPL 2020, Shikhar became the first player in the history of the league to score two consecutive centuries.
Shikhar received the ‘Arjuna Award’ in 2021, from the Government of India in recognition of his outstanding achievement in sports.
