Danish Husain has been instrumental in revitalizing Urdu storytelling, especially through the traditional art form of Dastangoi and his innovative creation, Qissebaazi, which emphasizes multilingual storytelling. His theatre company, The Hoshruba Repertory, based in Mumbai, plays a crucial role in promoting this rich art form. With degrees in economics and management from Delhi University, he shifted from a banking career to storytelling and theatre at the age of 30. Danish Husain has made significant contributions to cinema, appearing in notable films such as Dhobi Ghat, Peepli Live, Newton, and Soorma. He has also displayed his talent on television, featuring in acclaimed series like Taj Mahal 1989, Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu, and Bard of Blood.
