SMRITI MANDHANA

About
Smriti Mandhana is one of the most accomplished batters in modern women’s cricket and the vice-captain of the Indian national team.
A left-handed opener admired for her composed yet attacking stroke play, Smriti has redefined India’s top order with her consistency and poise under pressure.
Her journey reached a career peak in November 2025 when she played a pivotal role in India’s historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup win, finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer.
Smriti began her cricket journey at a young age, representing Maharashtra’s Under-15 and Under-19 sides before breaking into the senior domestic circuit.
In 2013, she became the first Indian woman to score a double-century in a one-day game, a feat that drew nationwide attention.
Her international debut came the same year at just 16, and she quickly established herself as a dependable opener.
During the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup, her fluent stroke play, including a century against the West Indies, made her one of the tournament’s standout players.
Over the years, Smriti has combined consistency with leadership. She became India’s youngest T20I captain in 2019 and has been a central figure in the team’s batting order across all formats.
Her performances in franchise cricket, from the Women’s Big Bash League in Australia and The Hundred in England to leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their first-ever Women’s Premier League title in 2024, have reinforced her standing as one of the sport’s most dependable and stylish batters.
