53 A

A Singapore based band with a forte of a variety of genres – jazz, pop, rock, punk, alternative or top 40s

53A is one of Singapore’s most prominent bands formed by lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Sara Wee and lead guitarist Alvin Khoo in 2003.

The band features a dynamic young crew of talented and versatile music performers from diverse backgrounds, all of whom are well-tenured in the local ‘live’ music scene

They released their debut studio album, ‘Settle the Kettle’ in 2010, featuring original compositions which received terrific reviews in The Business Times and TIME.

The band was chosen to sing the theme song for the National Day Parade in 2016, ‘Tomorrow's Here Today’, which was written by Don Richmond.

The band comprises Sara Wee - lead and backing vocals, Alvin Khoo - lead guitarist, Bani Hidir -bass guitarist, Helman Kamal - drums and Lisa Haryono - keyboards.

The band has cited The Beatles, John Mayer, Foo Fighters and The Click Five as their influences.

53 A has been regular performers at events and as a result is a unique, versatile and scalable group of professional musicians who are able to operate as an acoustic duo or scale up all the way to a six-piece band.
