Anup Jalota, popularly referred to as the 'Bhajan Samraat’, is a Padma Shri-winning musician and the voice behind the country's favourite devotional songs and ghazals.
He has released several devotional albums and has performed in shows in India and abroad. He has collaborated with several notable artists such as Ravi Shankar, Lata Mangeshkar, Hariharan and Jagjit Singh.
‘Aisi Lagi Lagan’, ‘Main Nahi Makhan Khayo’, ‘Rang De Chunariya’, ‘Jag Me Sundar Hai Do Naam’, and ‘Chadariya Jhini Re Jhini’ are some of his well-known bhajans.
From 2002 to 2005, he was also the host of the Star Plus programme ‘Dharam Aur Hum’. In 2008, he recorded the title song ‘Golden Memorable Yaadein’ for the album ‘Noorani Chehra’.
He was awarded Padma Shri for his valuable contribution in the field of Art - Indian Classical Music - Vocals. He has also earned a record number of 100 certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum discs.
