From a lieutenant of the Indian Army, a decorated Kargil war veteran, to now a corporate leader, Captain Akhilesh Saxena’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring! As an artillery officer attached to 2 Rajputana Rifles during the Kargil War in 1999, Captain Akhilesh displayed unparalleled bravery. Just weeks after his wedding, he found himself amidst the treacherous terrain of Kargil. Leading his troops with exemplary courage, he played a pivotal role in capturing strategic peaks such as Tololing, The Hump, and Three Pimples. His leadership in the face of adversity became a beacon of inspiration, setting an example for soldiers worldwide.
Despite sustaining injuries from enemy bullets during the conflict, Captain Akhilesh's spirit remained unbroken. After a year-long recovery at the base hospital in Delhi Cantt, he faced a pivotal decision between a secure job and further education. Opting for the latter, he pursued a full-time MBA at Delhi University's Faculty of Management Studies, emerging as a gold medallist of the 2004 batch.
Captain Akhilesh's transition to civilian life saw him join esteemed organizations such as the TATA Group, where he found resonance with their values of passion, commitment, and ethics.
