Captain Raghu Raman

About
Captain Raghu Raman is among the few leaders in India whose career spans three fundamentally different operating systems - the Armed Forces, Corporate India, and Government. Each shaped a distinct approach to leadership, and together, they form the foundation of his work today.
He began in the Indian Armed Forces, where leadership is defined by command, clarity, and accountability under pressure. He then moved into the corporate world, taking on leadership roles at organisations such as Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Industries, where performance is driven by incentives, scale, and market realities. His journey then extended into the public sector, where he worked within the process-led structure of government systems.
One of his most significant assignments came when he was handpicked by the Government of India to serve as the founding CEO of the National Intelligence Grid, a critical initiative created in the aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In this role, he built and led a hybrid organisation that brought together talent from both government and private sectors, working towards a shared national objective.
Beyond operational leadership, he has founded and led businesses, including complex global joint ventures, giving him direct experience in building organisations from the ground up. Today, he works closely with leadership teams across sectors, including his role as a leadership consultant with the Adani Group, where he has contributed to initiatives focused on developing future CEOs.
His voice on leadership and strategy has reached a wide audience through platforms such as TEDx and Josh, with talks and conversations crossing over 100 million views and often used as learning material in leadership forums. He is also the author of the bestselling book "Everyman's War" and has hosted "Wisdom of Leaders" on NDTV.
His association with institutions such as the Indian School of Business, National Defence College, and Indian Institute of Public Administration reflects his continued involvement in leadership education across both corporate and government ecosystems.

Why Captain Raghu Raman?
Most leadership speakers have led in one world. Capt. Raghu Raman has led in three – and has the scars, the successes, and the stories from all of them. He does not speak about leadership as a concept. He speaks about it as a practitioner who has had to build institutions from nothing, turn around organisations under pressure, and navigate the kind of complexity that no MBA programme can fully prepare you for. For any audience seeking insight that is hard-won rather than theorised, he delivers with the authority of someone who has sat in every room where the hardest decisions get made
