Udyan Sagar, better known by his stage name Nucleya, is a pioneering force in the Indian electronic music scene. As an independent artist, Nucleya has single-handedly redefined the soundscape of Indian dance music, creating a distinct genre that blends frenetic bass with the vibrant rhythms of Indian street music. His journey began in 1998 when he co-founded Bandish Projekt alongside Mayur Narvekar and Mehirr Nath Chopra. After 12 years of collaboration, Nucleya left the group in 2007 to carve out his own identity, a decision that initially came with its challenges but ultimately led to his rise as one of India’s most influential electronic music producers.

Drawing inspiration from South Indian film music and the diverse sounds of India’s streets, Nucleya released his first EP, ‘Koocha Monster’, in 2013, which marked the beginning of a new chapter in Indian music. His 2015 debut album, ‘Bass Rani’, released amidst the festivities of a Ganpati Visarjan on the streets of Mumbai, was a bold declaration of his unique sound—loud, unapologetically Indian, and bursting with energy. This was followed by another critically acclaimed album, ‘Raja Baja’, in 2016, further cementing his position as a leader in the Indian electronic music industry. 

In 2017, he collaborated with ‘All India Bakchod’ (AIB) to host and select winners for the Bacardi House Party Sessions, and in 2021, he released the ‘Baaraat’ EP in collaboration with Ritviz, which was accompanied by a series of NFTs, signaling his foray into the digital frontier of music. He was also selected as the judge on the Indian hip hop reality show ‘MTV Hustle’.

Internationally, Nucleya has performed at some of the world’s biggest music festivals, including EDC Las Vegas and Mexico, Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Sunburn Festival, Zomaland by Zomato, Vh1 Supersonic, and YouTube Fanfest. 

He has opened for and shared stages with global bass music icons such as Skrillex, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, and Krewella, reflecting his status as a trailblazer in the global electronic music scene.
