Gauahar Khan entered the showbiz with her appearances in dance numbers and music videos. From the playful song ‘Jhalla Wallah’ (Ishqzaade), the electrifying chartbuster ‘Chokra Jawaan’ (Ishqzaade), seductive dance number ‘Parda’ (Once Upon A Time in Mumbai), to the peppy song ‘Jawaani Le Doobi’ (Kya Kool Hai Hum 3), Gauahar has raised the bar each time she has graced the screen with her dynamic moves, and graceful expressions. Not just the dance numbers in movies, Gauahar has even featured in music videos. She even participated in Sony TV's celebrity dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3’ where she showcased her dancing skills, and went on to become the first runner-up of the show.
As an actress, Gauahar made her Bollywood debut with ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’ in 2009 and went on to win many awards, including the ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ at the Screen Awards and ‘Best Breakthrough Performance’ at the Stardust Awards.
She was also the anchor for TV shows like ‘Page 3’ on Zoom TV and ‘India Top 10’ as well as ‘Hollywood4U’ on the B4U channel. She has also acted in the action thriller film, ‘Game’, the revenge drama Ishaqzaade, the suspense thriller ‘Fever’, the romantic comedy ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and the Indian period drama ‘Begum Jaan’.
Gauahar has also appeared in a few music videos, of which ‘Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye’ by Bombay Vikings became hugely popular. Along with her sister, Gauahar has done the reality show, ‘The Khan Sisters’ on UTV Bindass. She also participated in Colors T.V.'s stunt show ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 5’. She also appeared in the Indian version of the BBC series ‘The Office’ and many web series such as ‘Parchayee’, ‘Tandav’, ‘Bestseller’, and ‘Salt City’.
She was the winner of the popular TV reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’, in 2014 on Colors TV.
From entering showbiz almost 20 years ago through a beauty pageant to be one of the nation’s most popular reality stars, she is now set to make her Netflix debut as a host for India’s first reality dating show ‘IRL: In Real Love’.
