Gippy Grewal

Rupinder Singh Grewal, known by his stage name Gippy Grewal gained significant recognition with his single ‘Phulkari’. His debut album, 'Chakkh Lai,' produced by Atul Sharma, marked the beginning of his successful music career. His eighth album, 'Desi Rockstar,' produced by Aman Hayer in 2010, was particularly well-received, and the song 'Angreji Beat,' a collaboration with Yo Yo Honey Singh, became a defining hit in his career, featuring later in the Bollywood film 'Cocktail.'

Gippy is an  Indian actor, singer, film director, and producer known for his extensive work in the Punjabi and Hindi film industries. He continued to release several popular albums, including 'Aaja Ve Mitraa,' 'Mele Mitraan De,' and 'Phulkari 2,'.

Transitioning to acting, Gippy made his debut in the 2010 Punjabi film 'Mel Karade Rabba' as the main antagonist. He quickly followed this with a lead role in 'Jihne Mera Dil Luteya,' which emerged as a major success in Punjabi cinema. 

His performance in the 2011 film earned him the PTC Best Actor Award. Gippy continued to deliver notable performances in films like 'Carry On Jatta,' 'Lucky Di Unlucky Story,' 'Bhaji in Problem,' and 'Jatt James Bond.' 

Gippy’s acting skills were further recognized with the PIFAA Best Actor Award in 2012 and another PTC Best Actor Award in 2015 for 'Jatt James Bond.'

In addition to his acting and singing, Gippy ventured into film production. He founded Humble Motion Pictures and later Big Daddy Films, along with his brother Sippy Grewal. His directorial debut came with the film 'Ardaas' in 2016 under Humble Motion Pictures. Gippy's filmography includes a diverse range of genres, from action films like 'Mirza – The Untold Story' to comedies such as 'Singh vs Kaur' and 'Double Di Trouble.'

Gippy's versatility extends to Bollywood, where he made a guest appearance in the 2015 film 'Dharam Sankat Mein' and his full acting debut in 'Second Hand Husband.'  He has also dubbed for the Punjabi version of the Hollywood film 'A Good Day to Die Hard,' making it the first Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Punjabi.
