Known as one of the most candid, unapologetic and for breaking stereotypes, Huma Qureshi is a bright actress, who has given hits like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, and ‘Badlapur’. Huma began her career as a theater actor and model while studying in Delhi. With no godfather or clear path ahead of her, Huma shifted to Mumbai.

Not just an actor who takes up unconventional roles, Huma is also a graceful dancer, who has featured in dance numbers like the raunchy item song ‘Shikayat’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Khatiawadi’, or the retro chartbuster ‘Yeh Ek Zindagi’ from ‘Monica, O My Darling’, and more

She started with TV commercials which eventually landed Huma her first film, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui in 2012. The film premiered at the ‘Cannes Film Festival’ and Huma received a lot of appreciation.

She starred in ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, a movie based on witchcraft with Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Kalki Koechlin for which her performance was praised.

Huma also made her international debut with Gurinder Chadha's ‘Viceroy's House’ in 2017.  This critically acclaimed film was screened at the 67th ‘Berlin International Film Festival’.

Her other notable movies include ‘Badlapur’, ‘Jolly LLB 2’, ‘Bell Bottom’ and ‘Kaala’.  Huma was one of the judges on ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz’, in 2018 and has hosted a TV show ‘Fit Fab Feast’ in 2021.

Huma made her web series debut in ‘Leila’ in 2019 and has also worked in several others such as ‘Maharani’ in 2021, Mithya in 2022, and the American web series ‘Army of the Dead’.

Huma won the ‘Most Entertaining Actor (Film) Debut-Female’ by BIG Star Entertainment Awards and ‘Debut Actor of the Year-Female’ by South African Film and Television Awards for ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. She received ‘Breakthrough Supporting Performance-Female’ by Stardust Awards for ‘Dedh Ishqiya’.

Huma won the ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ at the 2021 Filmfare OTT Awards for the web series ‘Maharani’.

Huma was on the cover of Femina magazine for the campaign ‘Be Unstoppable’  voicing against body-shaming. She also got featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in 2021 and Bazaar magazine in 2022.
