Imtiaz Ali, a film director and writer, is known for being one of the best storytellers in Bollywood.
He started his career by writing and directing television shows like Imtehaan for Doordarshan and Kurukshetra on ZEE TV.
Imtiaz made his directorial debut with Socha Na Tha starring Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia in 2005, receiving positive reviews.
His second film Jab We Met in 2007 was a critical and commercial success that earned him well-deserved recognition followed by Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, Cocktail and Tamasha.
Imtiaz founded his film production company, Window Seat Films and the first release of his production was Highway in 2014, which was well appreciated by critics.
In 2017 his Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer, Jab Harry Met Sejal, became one of the most anticipated films, by audiences & critics alike as soon as the trailers were released.
Imtiaz is also involved in web series and has written She and Dr. Arora.

- Imtiaz received the ‘Best Dialogue’ at Filmfare Awards, IIFA and Producers Guild Film Awards for Jab We Met in 2008.
- He also received the ‘Best Story’ at the Producers Guild Film Awards and Screen Awards for Love Aaj Kal in 2010.
- Imtiaz was also conferred by the ‘Kenya Tourism Board – IIFTC Tourism Impact Awards’ in 2017.
- He has also received the ‘Portuguese Government – Portuguese Touristic Medal of Merit’ for Jab Harry Met Sejal in 2018.
