About
Indus Creed is one of India’s foremost rock bands, celebrated for their pioneering role in shaping contemporary Indian rock and the burgeoning independent music scene. Formed in 1984, the original lineup included Uday Benegal, Mahesh Tinaikar, Zubin Balaporia, Mark Selwyn, Jayesh Gandhi, and Mark Menezes. After disbanding in 1997, the group made an unexpected comeback in 2010 with a refreshed lineup that retained founding members Uday, Mahesh, and Zubin, and added Jai Row Kavi, Krishna Jhaveri, and Gaurav Gupta.
The band’s influential presence in the Indian music industry has been marked by numerous accolades, including the prestigious Best Band award at the Jack Daniel’s Rock Awards in 2012 and induction into Vh1 India’s Hall of Fame in 2014.
Indus Creed’s impressive discography includes four highly successful albums, with ‘Evolve’, being a standout release. ‘Evolve’ was mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Tim Palmer, known for his work with Pearl Jam, U2, Ozzy Osbourne, and Tears for Fears, and was released by Universal Music India in 2012.
Indus Creed’s impact extends beyond their recordings; they have toured extensively, gaining acclaim and a loyal following both in India and internationally. Their achievements include winning the Best Rock Artist at the Radio City Freedom Awards.
