Jacques made his Test debut in 1995 and quickly established himself as a formidable force with the bat and ball. He gained international recognition during the drawn Boxing Day Test in Melbourne in 1997, where his gritty century against Australia's bowling attack, including Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne, reflected his ability to thrive under pressure.
Over his illustrious Test career of 166 matches, Jacques amassed a staggering 13,289 runs at an average exceeding 55, placing him among the top three highest run-scorers in Test cricket history.
