Mahesh Murthy

Mahesh Murthy is the Co-Founder & serves as the Managing Director & Partner at Seedfund. He is also the Founder & serves as CEO at Pinstorm Technologies Private Limited & Founder of Passionfund.com.

Mahesh began his studies at Osmania University in Hyderabad, but dropped out at the age of 17 and started working as a vacuum cleaner salesman before launching his first company, Vaclean.

He worked for the advertising agency FCB and Grey Advertising for which he won multiple advertising awards for his work on HCL, Network and other clients.

Mahesh has worked as a creative head for Ogilvy & Mather in Hong Kong, as a creative director and general manager at CKS Partners in Portland and for Amazon.com. He has also worked for Yahoo, Pepsi, Nike, Microsoft, Unilever across the US, China, Europe and India.

Mahesh helped launch MTV in India and later ran its rival Channel V.

In 2004, he founded the digital marketing firm Pinstorm, one of the world's first advertising firms to use pay-for-performance advertising, with offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Kathmandu with the headquarters in Mumbai.

Mahesh wrote columns for Business Today and BusinessWorld. He also contributed columns to the Wall Street Journal. He taught entrepreneurship at global business school INSEAD.

He has spoken at Internet World Chicago, CNET (LA), 140Conf & other prestigious conferences.

In 2017, he invested in Exseed Space, which was later renamed Satellize, a company that made history by launching India's first private satellite into space aboard SpaceX.

He has funded firms like Geodesic, Webdunia, EasyBuy, CareerLauncher, Tulleeho & Pinstorm.

Mahesh has spent over 25 years in marketing, of which the last 15 have been in the online world & the last 10 of those have involved helping his investee firms & clients market better.
