MIDIval Punditz, the brainchild of Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj from New Delhi, is a pioneering force in the world of electronica. Their groundbreaking fusion of electronic beats with traditional Indian instruments like the flute and tabla has earned them international acclaim.
Being the first Indian electronica act to sign with an international label, Six Degrees Records in the United States, they paved the way for a new era of Indian electronic music on the global stage.
With a career spanning over 18 years, MIDIval Punditz has released 8 albums, each pushing the boundaries of their genre. Their debut self-titled album ‘MIDIval PunditZ’ in 2002 marked the beginning of their journey, followed by notable releases like ‘Midival Times’ in 2005 and ‘Hello Hello’ in 2009, which garnered significant attention, earning a spot on Amazon's top picks for that year.
MIDIval Punditz’s musical skills extend beyond studio albums, as they've ventured into various realms of performance and collaboration. In 2011, they were invited by Alicia Keys to perform alongside esteemed artists such as Norah Jones, and Will. I.Am, and Usher in New York City, showcasing their versatility and influence in the industry.
