About
Motherjane, the iconic Indian rock band from Kochi was formed in 1996. They are known for their fusion of Indian ethnic elements with progressive rock - which they termed 'Ethnic Progressive Rock'. Motherjane released their debut album, ‘Insane Biography’ in 2002 under Kan & Will Records. The album gained massive love and popularity not only in India but across the world.
Motherjane’s singles ‘Clayplay’ and ‘Namaste’ produced by Rex Vijayan, showcased this evolution, with the latter soaring to the top of the Apple Music rock charts in India within its first week of release.
The band has toured extensively within and beyond the country, the main international tours being in countries like Indonesia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, and UAE.
From humble beginnings to international acclaim, Motherjane’s legacy inspires generations of musicians and fans, leaving a lasting mark on the Indian rock music scene.
