Naresh Iyer
About
A distinguished Indian playback singer, Naresh Iyer, first came to prominence with his rendition of 'Roobaroo' from the 2006 movie 'Rang De Basanti,' composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman. The song topped music charts for weeks and earned Naresh the prestigious National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer, alongside the Filmfare Award in the R.D. Burman Musical Talent category.
Hailing from Mumbai, Naresh is fluent in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and Marathi, which has enabled him to render over 2000 film songs across various Indian languages. Naresh Iyer's journey in the music industry began when he was discovered by A. R. Rahman during Channel V's reality talent show, ‘Super Singer’. Although he did not win the competition, A.R. Rahman recognized his potential and gave him his debut opportunity with the song 'Mayilirage' from the Tamil film 'Anbe Aaruyire.'
In addition to his playback singing, Naresh is the vocalist for Dhvani, a Mumbai-based fusion band that blends various musical genres.
Naresh’s ability to captivate audiences with his emotive voice and his contributions to Indian cinema have made him a celebrated figure in contemporary music, and also a great option to perform at live events.
