Piyush Mishra dons multiple hats with nuance and skill, making every project his own. He made his debut as a film actor with Mani Ratnam's ‘Dil Se’ in 1998 and portrayed as a C.B.I investigation officer.
His performance in Bollywood films like ‘Maqbool’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, & ‘Pink’ were highly appreciated & acclaimed.
He is noted for his songs ‘Arre Ruk Ja Re Bandeh’ from ‘Black Friday’, ‘Aarambh HaiPrachand’ from ‘Gulaal’, ‘Ik Bagal’, ‘Keh Ke Lunga’ from ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, to name a few.
He has written dialogues for hit films like ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ in 2002, ‘Ghajini’ in 2008, ‘Agneepath’ in 2012 & many more.
He also writes shayaris & poetries which are deeply rooted in the slice of life.
Mishra's critically acclaimed play on Bhagat Singh – ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’ won him the ‘Zee Cine Award for Best Dialogue’.
