Ram Baboo, a rising star in Indian athletics, who established a new national record in the Men's 35 km race walk event at the 2022 National Games in India. Despite financial constraints, he pursued his athletic dreams while juggling work as a daily wage laborer and a hotel waiter.
In 2022, Ram's talent and hard work culminated in a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, where he competed in the grueling 35 km race walk. His achievement drew widespread acclaim not only for his athletic skills but also for his perseverance amidst challenging circumstances.
Ram's international breakthrough came at the Dudinska 50 Meet in Slovakia, where he clocked a personal best time of 1:20:00, surpassing the qualification mark for the Paris Olympics.
