Remo D’Souza
About
Haven’t we all danced to the hook steps of ‘Balam Pichkari’& ‘Badtameez Dil’ from ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ or for that matter ‘Pinga’ and ‘Deewani Mastani’ from ‘Bajirao Mastani’? Well, these chart-busters had created much rage, not just because of the music, but also the unique choreography by none other than famous Bollywood choreographer, Remo D’Souza. Renowned for his contributions to Bollywood as a choreographer, film director, and producer, Remo stands as an epitome of creativity and talent in the Indian entertainment industry.
Remo began his film career in 1995 as a background dancer in the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Rangeela’. Over the next few years, he danced in and choreographed dance sequences in dozens of Bollywood films like ‘Saathiya’ (2002), ‘Dhoom’ (2004), ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ (2006), ‘Rock On!!’ (2008), ‘Student of the Year’ (2012), ‘Krrish 3’ (2013), and ‘2 States’ (2014).
With a career spanning over 25 years, Remo has choreographed more than 100 films, earning him the title of the most successful choreographer in Bollywood. However, it was his choreography in iconic films such as ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ that garnered him numerous awards and accolades.
In addition to his choreography skills, Remo has also made significant strides as a director and producer. His directorial debut came in 2011 with the Hindi comedy film ‘F.A.L.T.U’ which showcased his distinct directorial style and garnered favorable reviews at the box office. Remo's directorial journey reached new heights with ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’ (2013), India's first dance film, which received critical acclaim and set the stage for its sequel, ‘ABCD 2’ (2015), a 3D dance drama film produced by Walt Disney Pictures.
