About
Robin Uthappa is a former Indian Cricketer who has played in several matches and has the badge of the highest score for an Indian debutant in a limited-overs match.
Robin began his career with the Challenger Trophy in 2005, which launched him into the main league. He was also a member of India's Under-19 team, which won the Asia Cup.
He was selected in the 15-member squad of the Indian team for the 2007 Cricket World Cup held in the West Indies in March–April 2007.
Robin also scored a crucial 50 against Pakistan in the 20–20 World Cup in South Africa in the year 2007, becoming the first Indian to score a 50 in a T20 International match.
In November 2014, he was included in the Indian One Day International squad for the last two matches against Sri Lanka and was also included in 30 men’s Indian squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Robin has been a part of the Indian Premier League since 2008 and has played under several teams including Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors India, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings among others.
Robin suffered from depression and was on the verge of contemplating suicide after a string of poor domestic performances and failure to make the national squad, but he fought through it and improved his techniques making it big later on.

Robin was the first player to score a half-century in an International T20 match against Pakistan.
He holds a record of scoring the highest number of runs by an Indian debutant in an ODI against England in 2006.
Robin also holds a world record for making 40+ scores in 10 consecutive innings of IPL.
He has twice Received the ‘Madhavrao Scindia Award’ for the most runs in Ranji Trophy in 2006-07 and 2014-15.
Robin was conferred with ‘Domestic Cricketer of the Year’ in 2014, being the highest scorer of the IPL season.
