Sai Tamhankar managed to carve a niche for herself in the Marathi & Hindi film industry with her acting skills and charismatic screen presence. She garnered widespread recognition for her role in Sanjay Jadhav's romantic Marathi drama ‘Duniyadari’ (2013). The film emerged as a major success with a cult status, becoming a record of the highest-grossing Marathi film of that time. Sai made her film debut with a supporting role in Subhash Ghai's crime thriller ‘Black & White’, and ‘Ghajini’ in 2008 alongside her Marathi film debut in the same year in ‘Sanai Choughade’.
Sai continued to give impactful performances in Hindi and regional cinema. Some of her performances even won her accolades, such as ‘Dhurala’ (2020) a political drama that won her the ‘Filmfare Marathi Awards’ in the category ‘Best Female Actress’, and ‘ International Indian Film Academy Awards’ in the category ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her role in the film ‘Mimi’(2021). Her versatility as an actor transcends from the silver screen into the digital space as she debuts with a web series in Sony Liv’s ‘YOLO: You Only Live Once’ in 2017.
