Salman Ali has made a name for himself in the Indian music industry as a singer recognised for his soulful Sufi style and high pitched songs. He rose to fame after winning the 10th season of Indian Idol in 2018 and had earlier finished as the first runner up in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs in 2011.
In 2019, he made his debut as a playback singer in the movie ‘Jai Ho’ with his song ‘Satellite Shankar’ and in ‘Dabangg 3’ with the song ‘Awara’.
He has also provided vocals for the theme song of the Indian Television Series, Chandragupta Maurya, airing on Sony TV.
In 2019, Salman Ali featured on Jammin 2, a show on Sony TV where he collaborated with the music duo, Salim-Sulaiman among other bigwigs from the music industry.
He was the captain cum mentor in yet another show on Sony TV, called Superstar Singer.
Hailing from a small village in Haryana, in poor financial conditions, he had to drop out of school in 9th grade. However, Salman Ali's journey as a singer had already begun at the young age of seven as a means of earning a livelihood through singing.
Today, he is already being touted as a voice to be reckoned with, after he gained fame and recognition on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs and Indian Idol.
