About
Saumya Tandon is the winner of the Femina Cover Girl 2006 title. She is best known for her portrayal of the character 'Anita Bhabhi' or 'Gori Mem' whom she played on the popular comedy TV sitcom ’Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’.
She has also acted and was acclaimed for her role, in the Bollywood hit film ‘Jab We Met’, alongside Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Saumya has hosted many popular TV shows like multiple seasons of ‘Dance India Dance’ on Zee TV, co-hosted ’Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout’ with Shah Rukh Khan in 2011 on Imagine TV, co-hosted multiple seasons of ’Bournvita Quiz Contest with Derek O'Brien’, ‘Comedy Circus Ke Tansen’ in 2011 on Sony TV and more.
As a child she loved writing poetry and her collection ‘Meri Bhawnayein’ was published while she was still at school and was nominated for the ‘Modi Young Writers Award’. She received the ‘Best Personality Award’ at the New Talent Awards in 2009 and the ‘Best Anchor Award’ at the Gold Awards.
