Shamita Shetty made her silver screen debut with the role of ‘Ishika’ in Yash Raj Film’s movie ‘Mohabbatein’ (2001). Shamita hasn’t just been a talented actress, but also a graceful dance performer. She starred in a few hit dance numbers in Bollywood movies which include, ‘Sharara Sharara’ in ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ (2002), ‘Chori Pe Chori’ in ‘Saathiya’ (2002) and ‘Mind Blowing Mahiya’ in ‘Cash’ (2007).
Her breakthrough role came as ‘Sonia Mehra’ in the movie ‘Zeher’ (2005) opposite Emraan Hashmi. Her work in Bollywood includes films ‘Fareb’, ‘Bewafaa’ (2005), and ‘Cash’ (2007).
Shamita rose to prominence after her hiatus through the reality TV show, ‘Bigg Boss’ Season 15 (2021), where she finished as the second runner-up. She has also participated in Colors TV's stunt reality show ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’, ending up as the third runner-up. She made her OTT debut with Voot's comedy web series ‘Yo Ke Hua Bro’ in 2017.
Shamita’s debut performance as ‘Ishika’ in ‘Mohabbatein’ won her the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female.
