About
Making an international debut in the 2010 Asian Para Games, Sharad went on to win the Asian Para Games in 2014, bagging a Gold for breaking a 12-year Asian Games record, thus claiming the No. 1 position.
The Patna-born athlete suffered impairment due to polio when he was just 2 years old. From being bullied at school to being banned from participating in the Asian Games in Guangzhou to being on the verge of pulling out from the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021 due to a recent knee problem, every adversity created a new opportunity for him.
Since 2017, he has been training in Ukraine under Target Olympic Podium Scheme, Government of India (TOPS).

Sharad participated in the 2016 Rio Paralympics finishing in the 6th position. He also won a Silver in the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships.
Sharad also won Gold Medal in the 2018 Para Asían Games Jakarta setting a new Game Record and Continental Record by jumping 1.90m.
