Sharath Gayakwad
About
Born with a deformed left hand, Sharath Gayakwad has scaled incredible heights as an ace paralympic swimmer who has over 30 international and 40 national medals to his credit. A winner in not just the pool but in life too, Sharath Gayakwad was the first Indian swimmer to compete for the Paralympics in 2012.
The swimmer broke PT Usha’s record for most number. of medals at any multi-discipline event, achieving this feat in 2014 Asian Games by winning six medals.
When he is not winning laurels in swimming, Sharath is also running a start-up in the form of a joint venture providing a marketplace for practice gears & equipment for swimmers.

Sharath was also bestowed with the ‘Arjuna Award’ in 2015.
He also found a place in the ‘Forbes 30 under 30’ Asia 2017 list.
