Sonu Nigam

Referred to as the ‘Modern Rafi’, a moniker inspired by his musical idol, Mohammad Rafi, Sonu Nigam is an extremely talented singer, music director and actor with over 1000 songs to his name.

The Government of India has awarded him the Padma Shri, the country's fourth-highest civilian honour, for his contributions to the arts.

The powerhouse of versatility and energy, Sonu Nigam started his career in 1992. He consistently contributed some of the most memorable and popular Bollywood numbers starting from ‘Yeh Dil Deewana’ from ‘Pardes’ to the present day hits ‘Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin’ from ‘Agneepath’.

With his amazing voice, Sonu Nigam has sung songs in Hindi, Odia, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Kannada, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Tamil and Telugu to date. He has been a part of various incredible tours with fine singers including Asha Bhosle, Kunal Ganjawala, and Kailash Kher. 

Apart from all the awards and recognitions, Sonu’s most remarkable achievement in life is the time when he was ranked the ‘#1 Artist’ on the US Billboard Uncharted charts not just once but twice. In 2020, the veteran singer launched his own music label named 'I Believe Music'.

He has released pop albums & Buddhist albums, done tours & concerts across the globe, collaborated with international stars like Britney Spears & DJ Avicci, been a host for TV singing competitions like Sa Re Ga Ma, judged shows like Indian Idol & even acted in films like Betaab & Jaani Dushman. 

He has won numerous prestigious awards & was also nominated for Oscars 2015 for his composition for a drama film ‘Jal’. He won the National Film Award for ‘Best Playback Singer’ for the title track of Kal Ho Na Ho in 2004. 

He has hosted a variety of TV shows including ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ , ‘Kisme Kitna Hai Dum’, ‘Indian Idol’ in seasons 1 and 2 , ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs International’ and ‘Chhote Ustaad – Do Deshon Ki Ek Awaaz’.

Apart from TV shows, Sonu has hosted the prestigious ‘Mirchi Music Awards’ for eight years.
