Staccato Band

Staccato is a contemporary classic band with authentic classical roots, who are widely known for their innovation in blending Indian classical and other genres to deliver unparalleled contemporary pieces of art. 

The band promises a new age interpretation of Carnatic classical krithis, seamless amalgamation of nostalgic film music with a contemporary twist and mellifluous originals.

From stringing new melodies to mixing old ones or taking a trip down the memory lane from Ilayaraja to AR Rahman, RD Burman to Amit Trivedi, the band does it in all languages with immense passion.

They are the only band to have been chosen from India to perform at the 2012 London Olympics and have represented India at the World Freestyle Percussion event ‘Tum Tum Pa’ conducted by Redbull in Brazil.

They have been a part of iconic independent music festivals – Covelong Point Surf Music and Yoga Festival, Fete de la Music Festival.

The band has given talks as well as presented lecture-performance shows at TEDx events, schools, art gatherings and other venues as part of its outreach programs.
