Resilient and clear-headed, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh has served in the Indian Air Force for over two decades, flying critical missions across high-altitude zones, dense forests, and conflict-sensitive regions. A helicopter pilot by training, she has clocked over 2,500 hours in aircraft like the Chetak and Cheetah, participating in rescue operations and transport sorties in some of India’s most challenging terrains.
She became a familiar face across the country in 2025 when she addressed the media as the spokesperson for Operation Sindoor, launched in the wake of a terror attack in Pahalgam. Calm under pressure, her presence during the tri-services briefing quietly reflected the competence and grit she brings to every assignment.
Originally from Lucknow and the first in her family to join the forces, Singh’s journey began with the NCC and led her to a career that has included both combat and ceremonial responsibilities. She was also part of the landmark all-women tri-services expedition to Mt. Manirang in 2021.
