About
Dia Mirza, a Bollywood actor & winner of the coveted 'Miss Asia Pacific' (2000) title shot to fame with her Bollywood debut in the film, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein in 2001. Today she is not just an actor and producer but also an environmental activist and sustainability crusader, and the ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ for United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
The multifaceted actress has worked in films like Dum, Deewanapan, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Parineeta, Dus, & Lage Raho Munnabhai among others. She made her OTT debut with the web series Kaafir in 2019 and appeared in the 2021 Netflix show Call My Agent: Bollywood.
Passionate about the conservation of the environment, Dia has been one of the very few celebrities from Bollywood who has used her fame and her position to lead and support initiatives on climate change.
A committed voice for change in the field of social change, conservation and environmental activism, Mirza has been the face of many pivotal environmental campaigns across India and has worked towards the conservation of wildlife.
As the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador and UN Secretary-General Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals, Dia Mirza relentlessly speaks up about environmental issues, the need to eschew single-use plastics, and the importance of protecting wildlife habitats and forests.

She won the Zee Cine Award for ‘Best Debut’ for the film ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein‘. in 2001.
She has garnered a lot of praise for her social work & received the ‘IIFA 2012 Green Award’ for her contribution towards a green environment. She has also done awareness campaigns on the prevention of female foeticide, HIV awareness, the Cancer Patients Aid Association, PETA, CRY & many more.
She was named the ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission’s youth-based ‘Swachh Saathi’ programme & on World Environment Day 2017; she was appointed as the brand ambassador for the ‘Wildlife Trust of India’.
She has also been part of campaigns like #BeatPlasticPollution and ‘Me The Change: Women For The Planet’ as well as ‘Greenathons’.
In 2005, she won the ‘Great Women’s Achiever Award’ for Beauty.
In 2011, she was honoured with the Green ‘Globe Honour for Extraordinary Work by a Public Figure’ & also the ‘Women’s Achievement Award’.
