Kaneez Surka
About
A professionally trained improviser, sketch & stand-up comedian, Kaneez Surka is changing the way people look at female comedians in India.
She started her career with the satirical TV show ‘The Week That Wasn’t’ in 2006 with Cyrus Broacha on CNN-IBN.
Surka has also collaborated with All India Bakchod in many of their sketches, often playing off-the-beat characters like Chitika from ‘A woman’s besties’.
Kaneez has appeared in various stand-up shows around the country and appeared as a judge in both seasons of Prime Video’s Comicstaan.
Kaneez was born in South Africa to Indian parents, her broken Hindi adds a funny layer to her comedy that is a delight to hear.
She has been trained by Adam Dow from ‘Unexpected Productions’ & later at ‘Magnet Theatre’ in New York City by Armando Diaz.
Kaneez has worked for Improv Comedy Mumbai (ICM), India’s first improv comedy group.
She has also performed on the Netflix Special, ‘Ladies Up’,‘Comedy Premium League’ and Prime Video’s ‘Something from Nothing’.

Kaneez was selected for Voot Select Film Festival for her role in the short film ‘The Shaila’s’ and has established herself as an integral part of the industry.
She was a judge on the comedy show ‘Comicstaan’ Season 1 and 2 on Amazon Prime Video and ‘Queens of Comedy’ on TLC.
She has started the comedy panel game show called ‘The General Fun Game Show’ on YouTube which features popular comics.
Touted as the ‘Queen of Improv’ Kaneez can effortlessly play three different people in a matter of thirty minutes and her gimmicks leave the audiences in fits of laughter. Her charming wit and innate spontaneity makes it an absolute treat to watch her perform.
