Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut rose to prominence with her role as ‘Rani’ in the movie ‘Queen’ (2014), which wasn’t just a box office hit but also earned her the National Award for Best Actress. She is a multifaceted Indian actress, and filmmaker, and politician, currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Lok Sabha from Mandi since June 2024. Renowned for her portrayals of strong-willed and unconventional women in female-led Hindi films, Kangana's illustrious career is marked by numerous accolades, including four National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards. Her consistent presence in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list, featuring six times, underscores her significant influence and popularity. In 2020, she was honored with the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, reflecting her contributions to the arts and society.

Kangna's journey to stardom began at the age of sixteen when she briefly pursued modeling before training under theatre director Arvind Gaur. She made her film debut in 2006 with the thriller ‘Gangster’, earning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Her early career was defined by intense, emotionally charged roles in films like ‘Woh Lamhe’ (2006), ‘Life in a... Metro’ (2007), and ‘Fashion’ (2008), the latter earning her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. 

A pivotal moment in Kangna's career came in 2013 with her role as a mutant in the superhero film ‘Krrish 3’, one of the highest-grossing Indian films. She subsequently won National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ (2015).

In addition to her acting career, Kangna ventured into film production with the launch of her company, Manikarnika Films, in 2020, where she serves as a director and producer.
