Mame Khan belongs to a family of master singers, who have been performing unique, folk traditional Rajasthani music for more than fifteen generations. He got his energy & his vocal skills from his father & tutor, the late Shri Rana Khan.
He has lent his voice to Bollywood movies such as ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘Luck By Chance’, and ‘I Am’.
He has also been the main vocalist of the famous ‘Manganiyar Seduction’ by Roysten Abel, a live album featuring Rajasthani folk & Sufi music.
He has sung songs from Sufi poems of Sindh & Rajasthan, of poets including Mira Bai, Kabir, Lal Shahbâz Qalandar, Bulleh Shah & Baba Ghulam Farid.
He is the first-ever Indian folk artist to walk the Red Carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
He is a name that finds special mention and great respect among the folk music circuits of Rajasthan. He also performed for Amit Trivedi’s episode on ‘Coke Studio season 2 @ MTV’, on ‘Chaudhary’ and ‘Badri Badaria’.
Mame sings a vast repertoire of traditional Folk- and Sufi songs. His stage performances include the most illustrious national as well as international platforms. His voice has graced musical events and platforms in India and around the world; from Europe to America Africa and the Gulf Countries.
