Washington Sundar
About
An all-rounder who is known for his tight bowling, Washington Sundar has risen the ranks, from the age-group cricket to the Under-19 level and from Tamil Nadu state team to IPL and finally getting his maiden call-up into the Indian team for the Sri Lanka T20 series in 2017.
In 2017, at the age of 18, he became the youngest player to debut for India in T20s. In the same year he also scored his maiden first-class century at Ranji Trophy.
In the 2022 IPL Auction, Sundar was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.75 crores.
He went from being ‘not so sure about the future’ to being one of the most talked-about all-rounders in the country when Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for a whopping 3.2 crores in 2018.

This gritty all-rounder, whose first name was given by his father as a tribute to a dear friend, also became the only third Indian to score a half-century on his Test debut in Australia in 2021.
He also received the ‘Young Achiever Award’ from the Rotary Club of Madras.
