Not many who venture into television make it big in showbiz but Yami Gautam proved otherwise. Having made her television debut in Chand Ke Paar Chalo and the lead in Raajkumar Aaryyan, she played her most notable role in the TV series Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, which aired on Colors.
She has also participated in Meethi Choori No 1 and Kitchen Champion- Season 1. She became a household name after appearing in commercials with Fair and Lovely.
She rose to fame with her very first Bollywood film - Vicky Donor (2012), one of the most talked about movies of 2012 as it dealt with the novel subject of sperm donation.
She gained critical and commercial success with her highest-grossing releases- Kaabil (2017), the satirical comedy Bala (2019), and Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019). Her powerful performance in her latest film A Thursday released on Disney Hotstar has received rave reviews from the public.

Yami has been awarded ‘Rising Stars from TV’ at the 5th Boroplus Gold Awards, 2012. She has received Big Star Entertainment Awards for the ‘Most Entertaining Actor (Film) Debut – Female’ in 2012 and Zee Cine Awards for the ‘Best Female Debut’ in 2013.
She has also received IIFA Awards- ‘Star Debut of the Year- Female’ in 2013, Screen Awards for ‘Best Comedian’ in 2013, and ranked No. 12 on the iTimes ‘Most Desirable Women’ in 2012.
