Yamini Reddy is a distinguished Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, choreographer, and the Director of Natya Tarangini, an esteemed institution dedicated to the classical dance form of Kuchipudi. Born into a family deeply rooted in the dance tradition, Yamini's parents, Dr. Raja and Radha Reddy are celebrated Kuchipudi exponents. Her immersion in dance began early, performing at the tender age of three, under the expert guidance of her parents.
Yamini’s international career is marked by extensive tours to the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, UAE, and Southeast Asia. Notably, she performed at the prestigious Wigmore Hall in London in 2011 and undertook a successful tour of Russia and Eastern Europe. During this tour, she had the honor of performing for various Heads of State at the BRIC and SCO summits in 2009.
Yamini has also displayed her art before prominent personalities, including the President of Hungary, the First Lady of Slovenia, and former Indian President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
As a choreographer, Yamini has garnered acclaim for her innovative productions. Her work 'Harmony,' a collaboration with modern dancer Leah Curtis from New York, was well-received and invited to perform at the Nishagandhi Festival in Kerala. Her creative endeavors reflect a seamless blend of traditional Kuchipudi and contemporary dance elements, resonating with both critics and audiences.
In addition to her artistic contributions, Yamini has authored a research thesis titled 'Audience Development for the Performing Arts in India,' highlighting her commitment to the growth and evolution of the arts.
Natya Tarangini, founded in 1976 by her parents, Raja and Radha Reddy, to promote Kuchipudi in Northern India, has evolved into a leading arts institute under Yamini’s directorship. The Hyderabad branch, managed by Yamini’s older daughter, continues to thrive, training over a hundred students annually and hosting workshops and sessions with renowned artists.

Yamini Reddy’s contributions to dance have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards. These include the District Rotaract Club Award (2000), FICCI Young Achievers Award (2006), Devadasi National Award (2007), Sangeet Natak Akademi’s National Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (2008), and several others. She has also received international honors such as the Golden Key to the cities of Dublin and Ft. Lauderdale, the SBJ Legends of Tomorrow title (2015), and the Youngistan Award from News 24 Channel (2017). Most recently, she was honored with the Pride of Telangana Award (2019).
