With an extensive career in radio broadcasting and voice artistry, Srijata Roy, better known as RJ Riya is the morning show producer at 104.8 Ishq FM, Kolkata, where she also hosts the popular weekend show, 'Ishq Tolly Tales.' Her journey in radio has been marked by a deep passion for connecting with audiences, whether through the airwaves or live events. Before her current role, she headed the Community Radio Department at Jadavpur University, where she was also involved in academia, teaching Mass Communication and Radio Production courses. RJ Riya’s experience in education allowed me to mentor aspiring radio professionals, sharing insights from her years in the industry.
RJ Riya’s radio career began in 2006 with Radio Mirchi Kolkata, where she spent 11 years shaping the sound of the station and connecting with listeners. RJ Riya was the host of 'Coffee House Classics,' the No. 1 show in town, airing from Monday to Friday, 9 pm to 12 am. The show became a staple for listeners, thanks to its engaging content and her distinctive style. RJ Riya was also the preferred voice-over artist for the station, a role that extended to the entire Radio Mirchi network nationally. Her voice became synonymous with quality, and she was entrusted with voicing some of the station’s most important projects.
Beyond the radio station, RJ Riya’s voice has been featured in high-profile television commercials for premium clients such as P.C. Chandra Jewellers, Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, and ITC. Her ability to deliver clear, impactful voice-overs has made me a sought-after artist in the industry.
Additionally, RJ Riya brings her charismatic presence to the stage, hosting events for reputed corporate clients. Whether on air, in the classroom, or live at events, she excels at creating memorable experiences for my audience.
