Gurcharan Das is most well known for being the CEO of Procter and Gamble India and later Managing Director, Procter and Gamble Worldwide. He has studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Harvard University. He later attended Harvard Business School (AMP), where he is featured in three case studies.

He is presently editing “The Stories of Indian Business” , a 15 volume series for Penguin.

He is the author of The Difficulty of Being Good, a book which elaborates on the subtle art of dharma, while analyzing the epic, Mahabharata. 

After a 30-year career in business, he took an early retirement to become a full-time writer and is best known for his book: India Unbound, which gave a personal account of India's social and economic rise.

The second play 9 Jakhoo Hill has been performed in major Indian cities along with the third one Mira, which was critically acclaimed by New York critics and produced off-Broadway.
