Kumar Sanu is not just a singer, but a phenomenon who once ruled Bollywood’s playback singing circuit in the 90s.

'The King of Melody' also holds the Guinness Book world record for recording the most songs in a day - 28!

He is the only artist to have won five consecutive Filmfare Awards as the ‘Best Male Playback Singer’ for the songs 'Ab Tere Bin' from ‘Aashiqui’, 'Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai’ from Saajan, 'Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar' from ‘Deewana’,
'Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen' from ‘Baazigar’ and 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha' from ‘1942: A Love Story’. 

A winner of ‘Padma Shri’ award, Sanu's lilting voice was a solace for anyone who grew up in the 90s, etched with the memories of childhood crush, romantic love and even heartbreak, with songs like 'Tujhe Dekha To’ from ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, 'Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain’ from ‘Pardes’, 'Tumhein Apna Banane Ki Kasam' from ‘Sadak’, ‘Teri Umeed Tera Intezar' from ‘Deewana’  & many more.

Having sung in more than 30 languages including Marathi, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil & Punjabi, no wonder he was honoured with the Bollywood Music Award for ‘Best Artist Of The Decade’ in 2003. 

Many of his tracks have been top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of all time and crooned his way out of oblivion with ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ and changed the industry with his music lobbies.
