Kavita Seth

A celebrated Sufi singer, Kavita Seth broke into the big scene with her song 'Iktara' from ‘Wake Up Sid’ which won her several awards including Filmfare, Star Screen, & Stardust Award for ‘Best Playback Singer’ in 2009. 

Her recent Bollywood chart- toppers include ‘Nuskha Tarana’ from ‘Gone Kesh’, ‘Khalipan Shor Kare’ from ‘Paharganj’, ‘Jeete Hain Chal’ from ‘Neerja’, ‘Prem Mein Tohre’ from ‘Begum Jaan’, and ‘Maa from Maatr’. Besides her successful oeuvre in Bollywood, she has also rendered her voice to ‘Lagan Laagi Re’ and ‘Khari Khari’, songs from the Hollywood venture ‘Trishna’.

A trained Hindustani classical singer, her other popular hits include ‘Jeete Hai Chal’ from ‘Neerja’, ‘Mora Piya’ from ‘Rajneeti, ‘Mujhe Mat Roko’ from ‘Gangster’ & ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ from ‘Cocktail’ which won her the ‘Big Entertainment Award’ in 2012.

Her latest work is with Internationally acclaimed film-maker and Padma Bhushan awardee Mira Nair. Kavita dons the hat of the composer and singer in ‘A Suitable Boy’.

Having carved a niche for herself in the industry, the singer has bagged several awards such as the prestigious Filmfare, IIFA, Stardust, Screen and three awards by GIMA.
