Thomson Andrews is India's first contemporary singer-songwriter, recording artist, actor and TV host. Thomson's musical influences and songwriting skills include the genres of pop, R&B, funk, neo-soul, blues, soul, jazz, gospel, hip-hop, opera, soft rock, rock and roll and Sufi.
As a playback singer & vocal arranger he has worked with established music directors like AR Rahman, Ranjit Barot, Amit Trivedi, Hitesh Sonik, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Pritam, Vishal Bhardwaj, Vishal Shekhar, Salim Sulaiman, Clinton Cerejo & has also worked on Hollywood projects with Mira Nair.
He has also lent his voice for films like ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Bang Bang’, ‘Ungli’, ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, and more.
He has performed for Amazon Prime India on a music and dance reality TV show called ‘The Remix’ and was later hired by American Idol to promote the show among Indian audiences.
His latest claim to fame is singing Sanskrit shlokas in ‘Brahmastra’ and is one of the few Indian indie artists whose music has featured on national television networks like MTV Indies, VH1 India and 9xO.
He also performed for Vogue India's Women Empowerment initiative #VogueEmpower in 2014 and is also popularly known for his quirky style, funky hair- do's, and glasses.
He is also part of a popular Indian A cappella ensemble called ‘Raaga Trippin' with whom he performs live shows and creates unique renditions of cover songs as well as originals.
Thomson is a versatile singer who has performed globally at many live events for a large pool of clients. He has also sung live with established Bollywood personalities & music directors like AR Rahman, Mohit Chauhan, Neeti Mohan, Shalmali Kholgode, Salim Sulaiman, Amit Trivedi and Kailash Kher, to name a few.
