About
Shantanu is a renowned score composer, musician, playback singer and pianist who is synonymous with the ad jingle Bole Mere Lips, I Love Uncle Chips.
Shantanu began his career as a client servicing executive at an ad agency and began composing music for advertising jingles after being approached by Pradeep Sarkar, the agency's Creative Head at the time.
This led to him composing music for hit Indi-pop albums including Ab Ke Saawan, Mann Ke Manjeere: an album of women's dreams for Breakthrough, and Sapna Dekha Hai Maine for Shubha Mudgal.
Shantanu signed his first film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi which was followed by the blockbuster hit film Parineeta in 2005 gaining him recognition.
His other notable works include music for films like Lage Raho Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, Raajneeti, PK, Wazir, Pink, Gulabo Sitabo and Sardar Udham among others.
He has also produced 2 concerts namely ‘100 days in Himalayas’ which is based on his journey in the Himalayas and Chandrayaan: Celebrating India’s Journey To The Moon’ which is based on the launch of the second lunar exploration mission by ISRO.
He has also written a book in Bengali titled Ferrari Mon - Memories by Shantanu Moitra.

- Shantanu won the Filmfare RD Burman Award for ‘New Music Talent’ for Parineeta in 2006.
- He won the Filmfare RD Burman Award for ‘New Music Talent’ in 2005.
- In 2007, he won the ‘Cannes Bronze Lion’ for scoring the Happydent ad.
- He won the IIFA Award for ‘Best Background Score’ for 3 Idiots in 2009.
- Shantanu also won the ‘Background Score of the Year’ at Mirchi Music Awards for Madras Cafe in 2013.
- In 2014, he received the National Film Award for ‘Best Music Direction (Background Score)’ for Na Bangaaru Talli.
